A truck with more than two tons of drugs, including marijuana and cocaine, was seized in the Armando Mendes neighborhood, in the eastern part of Manaus.
According to the investigation, the vehicle was taking the drug shipment to the southeast of the country.
On the day of the seizure, which occurred on Friday (20), a team from the Department for the Repression of Organized Crime (DRCO) stopped a truck at a gas station.
The stop took place after weeks of investigation that followed the movement of the drugs, according to the police.
During the search, the police found the drugs inside the vehicle.
The truck driver, a 48-year-old man, was arrested and taken to the DRCO, along with the drugs and the seized truck, for the appropriate procedures.
According to the police, investigations will continue to identify the origin of the drugs.
The man will be charged with drug trafficking and is currently at the disposal of the courts.
