MANAUS-AMAZONAS, BRAZIL - The victims identified as Rafaela Pinheiro and Patrick Pinheiro died in a large fire that affected at least seven homes in a neighborhood in the South-Central area of Manaus.
The fire occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (12) and, according to the Fire Department, the victims were a mother and son, who died charred.
Residents reported that the flames started around 3 am, and that they themselves tried to put out the fire using buckets of water.
However, due to the structure of the houses being made of wood, the flames spread quickly.
All the homes affected were total losses and the fire was only brought under control around 8 am.
Also according to the Fire Department, information about the cause of the fire is unknown and an expert evaluation will be carried out on site.
