In a humanitarian action in the state of Amapá-Brazil, 36 volunteers participated in a joint medical care programme
in the Wajãpi indigenous land, coordinated by seven members of the NGO Doctors of the Amazon. The service had not been done for decades and was completed in a fortnight.
The team of volunteers left seven states to travel to the region in a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft. According to the Air Force, more than a thousand Indians also packed their bags and some walked for 12 days to receive care. The mission involved different health professionals, including psychologists.
