Three flights that were bound for the capital of Rondônia were diverted to other states.
Another four that were due to leave the city were canceled in the early hours of Thursday (15).
Passengers reported disruptions such as canceled shows, delayed vacations and extra expenses.
In a statement, Porto Velho airport reported that “due to weather conditions (smoke) the flights had to be rescheduled.”
The report also says that “passengers need to contact their respective airlines to seek further guidance.”
Porto Velho continues to have the worst air quality in the country.
Meters from IQAir, a Swiss air monitoring company, indicate that on Thursday (15) the capital reached an index of 920, considered dangerous.
The rating ranges from "Good", "Moderate", "Unhealthy for sensitive groups", "Unhealthy", "Very Unhealthy" and "Dangerous".
