A small aeroplane crashed in a forest area in the municipality of Atalaia do Norte, in the interior of Amazonas, on Sunday (8).
On board the aircraft was only the pilot, who suffered minor injuries.
According to the municipality's Civil Defence, residents of the rural area saw the plane flying low, near trees, before it crashed.
After the crash, the aircraft caught fire and was completely burnt out.
Three containers of aeroplane fuel were found at the scene.
In addition to Civil Defence agents, military police and Municipal Guard agents went to the scene to provide assistance.
The team found the pilot leaving the scene of the accident with bruises all over his body.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to the 50th Interactive Police Station (DIP) in Atalaia do Norte to provide clarification about what happened.
