Many containers fell from a barge on the Amazon River during a transshipment maneuver, which is when cargo is transferred from one ship to another vessel.
The incident occurred on Thursday night (26), at the temporary floating pier installed near the city of Itacoatiara, in Amazonas.
According to the group responsible for the pier, the incident occurred during the departure process of a barge fueled by the structure.
The images recorded by the ship's crew show the moment when eight containers fell into the river.
The company also said that despite the unforeseen event, it mobilized its entire structure for the rescue operation, recovering all the cargo, and that there were no injuries.
On Friday morning (27), the transshipment operation was resumed, and the containers involved in the incident were placed on barges, which continued on to Manaus.
To ensure supplies to the industries in the Manaus Free Trade Zone during this year's drought, private companies installed two floating piers on the Amazon River, near Itacoatiara, in Amazonas.
The logistics solution allows large ships to dock in deeper waters and unload their cargo.
Since the rivers are at low levels, large ships have difficulty reaching the capital of Amazonas.
To get around this problem, the containers are transferred from the ships to smaller barges on the floating pier.
These barges, in turn, transport the cargo to Manaus.
In addition to ensuring supplies, the floating piers also facilitate the flow of production from the Free Trade Zone.
