A lightning strike killed 98 head of cattle on a rural property in Vila Bosco, in the municipality of Parecis, in the interior of the state of Rondônia.
The electric shock occurred on Sunday (13), but the animals were only found by the farm's caretaker on Tuesday morning (15).
The owner of the cattle said he was on another property when he was informed about the incident.
The caretaker reported that on Monday he carried out a routine inspection of some pastures, but did not check where the cattle were.
According to the caretaker, the animals were struck by lightning while they were sleeping, since there was heavy rain and lightning on the farm on Sunday night.
The suspicion is that the lightning struck the ground, causing the death of the herd.
