AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – A twin-engine Beechcraft King Air aircraft made an emergency landing at Manaus International Airport on Friday night (22) after reporting a landing gear failure while still in flight.

The aircraft landed safely, prompting a temporary suspension of other operations at Eduardo Gomes Airport.

Airport authorities confirmed there were no injuries.

Emergency services were immediately activated and monitored the entire incident.

Footage from the scene shows rescue teams deploying foam-generating liquid (LGE) to mitigate further risks.

Preliminary information indicates the aircraft remained airborne for a period to reduce fuel levels before landing, although the exact duration of the maneuver has not been disclosed.

The Amazonas state Fire Department said it was alerted around 8:00 p.m. and used water and LGE to cool down the aircraft post-landing.

A total of 10 vehicles and 33 firefighters were mobilized in response.

Three individuals were on board—pilot, co-pilot, and one female passenger. The passenger was in a state of shock and received specialized care after landing.

Representatives from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) and the Civil Police are on-site investigating the cause of the emergency landing.
