AMAZONAS, BRAZIL - A lightning strike killed ten head of cattle on a farm in the municipality of Apuí, in southern Amazonas, during a severe storm on Thursday afternoon (18), according to the local Department of Rural Production.

The farm's owner, Romildo Cavicholli, expressed sorrow over the loss of the animals. He will receive support from the Apuí Department of Production and Supply, as confirmed by Deputy Secretary Rogério Ferrasso.

Authorities said proper measures will be taken to ensure the safe and environmentally responsible disposal of the dead livestock, in order to prevent any health or ecological risks.

The storm also caused disruptions in the town, leaving parts of Apuí without electricity for approximately four hours, according to local residents.
