Residents of the Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS) Puranga Conquista, near Manaus, are being trained through a project for the orderly introduction of seedlings of native, timber and fruit species into the forest, chosen by them and cultivated in nurseries. In addition to restoring the area, another objective is to generate income in the medium and long term through the legal exploitation of timber and fruit.
