PARINTINS, BRAZIL - Caprichoso opened the first night of the Parintins Folk Festival on Friday (June 26) with an aerial entrance that delivered one of the performance's most striking visual moments. The show placed Parintins at the center of its narrative while emphasizing the blue ox's connection to the island's history and culture.

Throughout the evening, the group paid tribute to the traditional boi-bumbá performers, underscoring the importance of the popular cultural expressions that helped shape Parintins' cultural identity.

The performance also placed Indigenous peoples and the traditional knowledge of the Amazon in the spotlight, advocating the preservation of memory, ancestry and cultural diversity.

Among the evening's most anticipated highlights were the performances of cunhã-poranga Marciele Albuquerque, who emerged from the float "Cobra Grande – The Goddess of Enchantment," as well as sinhazinha da fazenda Valentina Cid and rainha do folclore Cleise Simas.

The show concluded with the Wat-Amã Initiation Ritual, inspired by the culture of the Sateré-Mawé people, reaffirming Caprichoso's commitment to celebrating the origins of Parintins and the resilience of the peoples of the Amazon.
