PALMAS, BRAZIL — A video posted by sport fisherman Luciano Padilha surpassed 1 million views on social media. The footage shows a school of red piranhas devouring pieces of meat within seconds, while a caiman remains at a distance.

The scene took place near an Indigenous village on Bananal Island in Tocantins state. During the recording, Luciano jokes with a friend while observing the large number of piranhas in the area.

“Do you think there are piranhas here, my friend? Oh my God, look at that! There are so many red piranhas! And there’s a big caiman coming over there. If you’re not happy with the piranhas, there’s a huge one over there, almost three meters long. It’s not a good idea to swim here, okay?” the fisherman said while talking to his friend.
