ACRE, BRAZIL - Students at Antônio Simplício Rural School, located in Feijó, a town in the interior of Acre state, had their classes suspended this week following the sighting of a jaguar in the area.
The jaguar was captured on video by a local resident as it crossed a wooden bridge on the Novo Berlim road, heading toward a nearby forested area.
In response, school officials temporarily halted all activities and are working with local authorities to implement safety measures and ensure the animal is relocated before classes resume.
