RONDÔNIA, BRAZIL - An unusual incident occurred during a sport fishing trip on the Guaporé River in Rondônia, northern Brazil. An alligator was accidentally caught and ended up with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth.
The moment was captured on video, showing the reptile thrashing in the water as it tried to free itself from the equipment.
According to Anderson Guedes, such situations are relatively common. He explained that alligators, like fish, are also attracted to the bait and may bite it by mistake.
Guedes, the most experienced member of the group, managed to restrain the animal and remove the hook. The fishermen took the opportunity to snap a photo with the alligator.
Anderson Guedes was startled when the reptile suddenly broke free from his hands and returned to the river, as seen in the footage. After the incident, the fishermen resumed their activity.
