An anaconda about 5 metres long was captured by the Acre Fire Department (CBMAC) after killing a dog in Rodrigues Alves, in the interior of the state, last Wednesday (20). According to the police report, the incident took place in the São Francisco neighbourhood. According to the report, the complainant heard a dog howling and went to see what it was about in the grounds of his house. He then saw that the snake was coiled up and trying to swallow the dog. The fire brigade said that when they arrived at the scene, the snake was captured in a drum waiting to be removed. A capture box was put in place and the animal was taken to a closed forest near the Juruá River for release. The capture was carried out with basic equipment to ensure the safety of the animals and the residents of the area. The anaconda was returned to its natural habitat, contributing to the preservation of the local fauna and the safety of the community.
