The project headquarters is located in the Environmental Protection Area - APA of the Curiaú River, half an hour from downtown Macapá, the state capital.
In addition to offering ecological tours, the site also develops activities such as wine production and açaí pulp.
The work is carried out in conjunction with the communities in the region.
However, to increase the açaí fruit harvest, the project is using bees to pollinate native plantations.
The gray uruçu species was chosen to do the work.
They are known for being large, robust bees and excellent honey producers.
The work is monitored by a biologist who guides those responsible for the project in developing and increasing the number of bees.
The expectation is that in the future the production of the açaí harvest will increase along with that of honey for commercial sale.
The bioeconomy combined with the protection of the forest and the social aspect is one of the landmarks of the Samaúma Flower Project
