The Christmas tree in Largo de São Sebastião, in downtown Manaus, caught fire late in the afternoon of this Thursday (19).
Despite the scare, there are no reports of injuries.
The structure is over 23 meters tall.
Firefighters and firefighters worked to put out the flames.
The area was isolated and the structure must undergo repairs.
Visitors who were at the site began to run away in fear of the spread of the flames soon after the fire started.
The tree is part of the Christmas decorations set up by the Amazonas Department of Culture (SEC) at the site and has been attracting the public daily.
The Government of Amazonas reported that the area where the tree is set up will be closed off so that the structure can be rebuilt.
However, the Christmas schedule at Largo de São Sebastião and its surroundings will continue as normal over the next few days.
