BELÉM - PARÁ, BRAZIL - Drivers traveling on the Barreiras road, in Itaituba in western Pará, were surprised on Thursday morning (20) by a strong current that destroyed part of the road.
The incident occurred after a nearby lake overflowed, caused by the large volume of rain in the region.
In the video, it is possible to see the strong current dragging away pieces of the road and making any attempt to cross extremely dangerous.
On Saturday (22), the city hall closed the road to empty the lake and install a container to solve the problem.
The road was only reopened on Sunday morning (23).
