A 39-year-old driver fell into a ravine after trying to flee from the police, this Tuesday (26), on the BR-425, in Guajará-Mirim (RO).
The police seized more than 28 kg of drugs in the vehicle.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the escape occurred after the officers identified the vehicle with irregularities in the lighting system.
When signaling for the driver to return to the inspection point, the driver disobeyed and fled at high speed.
The escape lasted about 40 km, and upon reaching a bridge, the driver lost control of the steering wheel and fell into the stream.
After the fall, the team approached the vehicle and arrested the suspect.
The suspect confessed to the police that he was transporting the drugs due to debts owed to a criminal organization.
In the vehicle, the police found 28.4 kg of cocaine.
The driver was taken for medical attention due to his injuries and will then be held at the disposal of the courts.
