The Rio Negro has never been so dry since 1902, when measuring began in Manaus. On Monday (16) October, the level reached 13.59 metres, the highest ebb in the history of the Amazonian capital. According to the Geological Survey of Brazil, the trend is for the river to continue to recede this month, but the drought should slow down. The natural phenomenon that occurs every year in Amazonas and the Amazon region will be more severe in 2023.
