RONDÔNIA, BRAZIL - A jaguar entered a residential property on Monday morning (22) in Extrema, a district of Porto Velho.
Videos filmed by local residents show the animal lying down, breathing heavily and appearing visibly distressed.
The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) was called by the Military Police, and a rescue team was dispatched to the scene.
Extrema is a small district located about 300 kilometers from Porto Velho, with just over 7,000 residents. The area, known as Ponta do Abunã, is surrounded by forest and Indigenous Territory.
