TOCANTINS, BRAZIL - Residents of a home in Araguaína, located in the northern Brazilian state of Tocantins, had a frightening surprise after discovering a boa constrictor inside a wardrobe drawer.
The state fire department was called in to safely remove the wild animal and transport it to a secure location.
The incident occurred on Saturday (16) at the home of photographer Neto Tavares. According to him, the family was getting ready to head out for a swim when his 10-year-old daughter opened a drawer to grab a bikini—only to find the snake coiled up inside. She screamed and ran for help.
Tavares said that despite the initial scare, he tried to stay calm. The snake appeared to be asleep, and he immediately contacted authorities. Firefighters arrived at the residence shortly after.
The fire department reported that the wild animal was captured using proper handling techniques to ensure safety for both the residents and the snake.
