ACRE, BRAZIL – A family in Rio Branco, capital of the Brazilian state of Acre, experienced a terrifying surprise on Sunday night 18th when a one-meter-long boa constrictor was found inside a toilet.
Juan Pablo Bolívar, a rideshare driver, was visiting his sister’s apartment with his wife and children when his 10-year-old son encountered the snake in the bathroom.
Alarmed, the child ran out calling for his father, saying he had seen “something strange.”
Bolívar explained that his sister and her husband have been living in the apartment for about a month.
His brother-in-law initially tried to pull the snake out but got frightened and let it go, allowing the animal to retreat back into the toilet.
The family called the local fire department for assistance.
Rescuers attempted to remove the snake without damaging the toilet, but were ultimately forced to break the porcelain to extract the animal.
Out of fear that more animals might be lurking in the plumbing, the residents spent the night at a relative’s home.
