Producers in the state of Roraima usually start planting soya in April, in an inverted calendar in relation to other states that produce the grain, because it is in the northern hemisphere. The seeds are planted until June, with the harvest taking place between August and September. According to data from the Department of Agriculture, the state has seen a 191.2% increase in soya production over the last four years - from 2018 to 2022. The rise in production also accompanied the increase in planting areas, by 165.7 per cent in the period.
