Heavy rain that fell in the early hours of this Monday (6) left streets flooded in Caracaraí, a municipality south of Roraima. With the large volume of water, residents woke up to find their house flooded and a gas station even flooded. The rains started around 10pm on Sunday (25th) and continued until Monday morning. In the first days of May, it rained 126 mm, that is, 31% in relation to the general historical average for the monthly period, according to the State Foundation for the Environment and Water Resources (Femarh). The city hall reported that it established a crisis committee and is cleaning the affected streets. In relation to the houses that suffered from flooding, the Social Action Secretariat is already in contact with the families and taking the necessary measures. Videos show flooded houses and even a gas station affected. In the Civil Defense assessment, flooding occurs due to the lack of drainage in the municipality.
