The historic drought faced by the Amazon this year gave rise to a vast field of green grass that appeared on the banks of the Rio Negro, in Manaus.
The landscape, which has gone viral on social media and attracted visitors, usually remains submerged for most of the year.
Over time, dense vegetation called "Canarana" developed and transformed the site into a temporary "tourist spot".
With the repercussion of the site, many people began to visit it to take photos, record videos and meet with family and friends.
The vegetation that appeared in the site is typical of areas that face periods of drought, functioning as a new colonization of the space.
With the beginning of the waters rising during this period, the space should detach and form a large floating island formed by the vegetation.
This will cause a problem.
According to an expert, this type of vegetation tends to block sunlight from entering rivers and reduce the amount of oxygen in the water.
This could affect the reproduction of fish that live in the region.
