The anaconda was found in a stream on Monday morning (07), in the Flodoaldo Pontes Pinto neighborhood, between Parque da Cidade and the Porto Velho shopping mall.
People passing by the area recorded a video showing the snake in the water feeding.
The Fire Department was called to rescue the animal, but when they arrived at the scene, the snake had already disappeared into the water.
According to a biologist, the animal recorded is a young anaconda, estimated to be between five and six meters long.
And that its diet includes rodents, birds and even small alligators.
One of the main factors contributing to the appearance of snakes in urban environments is the migration of these animals due to the destruction of their natural habitats during the “Amazonian winter”.
