The floating structures are completely dry.
They are used as homes by people who live and depend on Aleixo Lake.
A very unpleasant scenario for those who benefit from the movement of visitors.
Canoes and boats are also on dry land.
A sign of losses for local fishermen.
This is the second year in a row that Aleixo Lake, located in the rural area of Manaus, has completely dried up, due to the severe drought that is affecting the entire Amazon.
Residents say that the lake dried up much earlier than in previous years.
To minimize the situation, residents are taking water from a well (a well with a wooden fence) for basic needs.
The detail is that the water is not 100% drinkable, but it is at least good for bathing.
Residents are asking for help from the authorities to minimize the impacts.
