A crowd invaded the police station in Jutaí, in the interior of Amazonas, and lynched a man who had been arrested, suspected of raping a 1-year-old and 6-month-old child.
The people responsible for the crime have not yet been identified, but according to the police, they have already begun investigations.
The 48-year-old man was arrested the day before, on Wednesday (18), after turning himself in to the police.
After investigations, he was identified as the suspect who took the 1-year-old child, sexually abused her and then killed her.
The victim had disappeared the night before, while sleeping on a floating boat in the port of Jutaí.
On Thursday night (19), during the suspect's interrogation, a crowd outraged by the crime surrounded the police station and invaded the place.
At the time, the people used firecrackers, Molotov cocktails and glass bottles that were thrown towards the building, according to information from the Military Police.
Upon entering the police station, the crowd managed to locate the suspect, who was taken to the street and lynched.
The police reported that despite their efforts, they were unable to contain the revolt of the people.
It was also reported that the Security Forces have already begun investigations to identify those responsible for the lynching.
