MANAUS, BRAZIL - An alligator was found inside a small plastic children’s pool in the backyard of a home in the East Zone of Manaus on Sunday morning (29). The family had planned to clean the pool for the children’s use that day.

According to the resident, her husband woke her at around 6:30 a.m. to report that there was an alligator in the children’s pool. Joyce went to check and confirmed the animal was there.

The Amazonas State Fire Department carried out the rescue and returned the animal to its natural habitat.
