A 2.5 meter anaconda (Eunectes murinus) was rescued near a pig farm in a house, in the city of Cruzeiro do Sul, in the interior of Acre, on Tuesday (7). The Fire Department responded to the incident and immediately released the animal in a suitable location. The snake that was on the land put the property's pig farming at risk. The Federal University of Acre (Ufac) explained that the snake is a non-venomous species with aquatic habits, and does not pose any major risks to humans, but consumes other animals. According to Ufac, it can reach more than 8 meters in length and although many fear this animal, there are no true reports of fatal attacks on humans. Also according to Ufac, the anaconda feeds on rats, birds, frogs and lizards when they are small. When it grows, it can feed on larger animals such as alligators and capybaras.
