A boat with 150 passengers, which left Parintins bound for Manaus, ran out of fuel for more than ten hours in the middle of the Amazon River.
The problem occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday (2).
The boat was heading to Itacoatiara before docking in the capital of Amazonas, when the unexpected happened.
After running out of fuel, the commander took the vessel to the left bank of the river.
Passengers remained inside the forest without eating or drinking.
The Command of the 9th Naval District (Com9ºDN) said that it was called and provided medical support with the delivery of medicines to passengers, and transferred 200 liters of diesel oil so that it could reach the city of Itacoatiara.
The boat arrived in Itacoatiara around 4pm. From there, the vessel must continue to Manaus.
The Command also said that it will adopt the appropriate measures.
