RONDÔNIA, BRAZIL - The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized 1.2 tons of marijuana and marijuana-based products this past Wednesday (9) inside a semi-truck in Vilhena, Rondônia.
According to investigators, the vehicle originated from the state of Paraná, in southern Brazil.
In addition to the large quantity of narcotics, officers also found amphetamine pills, which are banned in Brazil by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).
The driver, a 43-year-old man whose identity was not released, was taken into custody and handed over to the local authorities for appropriate legal proceedings.
The seized drugs were transported to the Federal Police station in Vilhena for further investigation and subsequent destruction.
