Around four tons of cocaine base paste were seized by the Federal Police (PF), this Wednesday morning (24), in Tabatinga.
The municipality of Amazonas is located on the border of Brazil and Colombia.
This was the largest drug seizure in the state's history.
The drugs were found by PF agents in the Vila Nova community, Rural Zone of Tabatinga.
The location is isolated and difficult to access.
The region is part of the so-called “Rota do Rio”, a known drug transport point throughout Brazil.
According to the police, part of the drug was hidden inside a wooden house and the rest was buried nearby.
A rifle was also seized at the scene.
According to the PF, the drug came from Colombia and was stored in the Vila Nova community to be transported to Manaus.
The drug would be distributed to large centers in Brazil and outside the country.
At the time of the action, three people were arrested.
