A heavy rain caused a landslide in the rural area of the city of Anamã, in the interior of Amazonas, on Sunday (20).
According to residents, there was another landslide in the area last week due to another rainstorm.
The city government of Anamã reported that, of the twelve families affected, some went to stay with relatives and the others will receive social housing.
Due to the accident, a floating boat was stuck across the Paraná River and blocked access to a nearby community, reported the Municipal Civil Defense.
The Paraná River is a tributary of the Solimões River, and was also hit by the severe drought in the state.
The agency, however, did not disclose what measures will be taken to free the river's passage, which was obstructed by the floating boat.
