Half a ton of alligator meat was seized on Monday (12), in a river in the district of Mazagão Velho.
The act is part of the national security operation 'Águas Seguras' to combat river crimes, including criminal activities, river piracy, drug trafficking and protection of the Amazon Biome.
The operation began on Friday (9) and will continue until September 9.
Data on the activities that took place until Monday (12) were released by the Secretariat of Justice and Public Security of Amapá (Sejusp).
The data show that in addition to the slaughtered animals, five vessels and 32 people were also approached.
The objective is to drastically reduce the actions of criminal groups that mainly operate in cargo theft.
