To provide transparency to the recovery and paving works of BR-319 in Amazonas, the Ministry of Transport made public on Tuesday (11) the report that consolidates the discussions of the Working Group (GT) on the highway.
The federal highway connects Manaus, capital of Amazonas, to Porto Velho, in Rondônia.
In addition to being in the middle of the Amazon jungle, the road is the main land access between these states and the rest of the country.
The debate surrounding the recovery and paving of BR-319/AM has been going on for two decades.
The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Resources (Ibama) states that it is necessary to have more detailed studies to issue the environmental license granted by the agency for the recovery of the highway
The Working Group report presents projects and schedules so that the conditions imposed on the work are met.
Among them are the adoption of technological innovations for monitoring and controlling tickets.
The placement of 500 kilometers of fencing to guarantee environmental preservation in the Middle Section and the implementation of 172 wildlife crossings.
The text also talks about the creation of a conservation unit and inspection points.
The next stage of work takes place in July, when a series of meetings will begin to draw up Technical Cooperation Agreements, between the Ministry of Transport and the other bodies involved in the project.
