The Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Police launched, on the morning of this Thursday (28), the operation 'Hidden Circuit', which aims to dismantle a criminal group that was illegally importing cell phones.
The agents carried out a search at a store located in the Adrianópolis neighborhood, in the South-Central Zone of Manaus.
At the location, agents seized electronic devices and documents that will undergo expert analysis.
No one was arrested during the operation.
According to the investigations, digital influencers who act as “coaches” gave their followers courses on social media teaching how to import products without paying taxes.
In addition to Amazonas, the operation took place in Goiás, Mato Grosso, and Tocantins.
During the operation, 76 search and seizure warrants and asset seizures were served.
The investigation indicates that losses to the public coffers could reach R$80 million per year, in federal taxes alone evaded.
According to the Federal Police, the companies involved have a financial turnover of millions, using cryptocurrencies to carry out illegal transactions and laundering funds from crimes committed.
The members of the criminal group must answer for the crimes of smuggling, criminal organization, currency evasion, incitement to crime and money laundering.
