AMAPÁ, BRAZIL – A sloth was found hanging from a power line in the southern zone of Macapá, the capital of Amapá state, prompting a rescue operation carried out by energy utility workers with support from the Military Environmental Police Battalion.
The animal was spotted along a local highway, in an area deemed hazardous both to the sloth and to the electrical infrastructure.
Authorities confirmed that the sloth was safely removed and later released back into its natural habitat.
The Environmental Police Battalion emphasized the importance of contacting local authorities when wild animals are found in urban areas or in danger, to ensure safe rescue procedures and prevent potential accidents.
