MANAUS, BRAZIL — A Jibóia (Boa constrictor) was rescued on Tuesday (7) after being found in the garden of a school in the northern zone of Manaus, in the state of Amazonas. The animal appeared in the outdoor area of the facility, causing alarm among students and staff.
The snake was first noticed by school employees in the morning. The facility is located near a vegetated area, which may have facilitated the animal’s entry into the premises.
After the ‘Boa Constrictor’ was identified, the area was isolated as part of the school’s safety protocol. The Environmental Policing Battalion (BPAmb) was then called in to carry out the rescue.
The capture was conducted safely and, according to officers, the snake showed no signs of injury. After evaluation, the animal was deemed fit to be released back into its natural habitat.
