AMAZONAS, BRAZIL - The vessel, identified as 'Lady Luiza II', was headed for Manaus, the state capital.
According to the captain, he lost control of the speedboat, which reportedly caused the crash.
Footage from the scene shows the vessel lodged against the riverbank moments after the collision.
The front of the boat sustained visible damage, and the windows of the captain’s cabin were shattered.
Inside the vessel, passenger seats were broken and scattered across the floor due to the force of the impact.
The total number of passengers on board has not been disclosed.
All passengers were transported back to São Gabriel da Cachoeira on a different boat.
The three injured individuals were met by an ambulance at the local port and taken to the São Gabriel da Cachoeira Garrison Hospital.
Their conditions have not been released.
The company operating the vessel announced the trip was canceled for safety reasons, with no timeline for service to resume.
