AMAZONAS, BRAZIL — The storm that hit Manaus on Saturday and ended in the early hours of Sunday (27th) caused a series of floods in streets and homes across various parts of the city.
According to the City Cooperation Center (CCC), as of the latest update, 45 incidents were reported in different areas of the capital of Amazonas.
According to the Amazonas Civil Defense, the rain is expected to persist throughout the state.
The Civil Defense also reported floods, collapses, landslides, and other hazardous occurrences.
In downtown Manaus, a tree fell in the middle of the road due to the heavy volume of water.
In the Central-West Zone, a family lost everything when their home was invaded by a flood.
In the West Zone, a wall collapsed due to problems with a nearby water pipe.
The large volume of water caused the wall to give way, scattering debris across the street.
Civil Defense teams are monitoring the situation of families affected by the storm.
