A large fire continues to destroy the Guajará-Mirim State Park, a conservation unit in Rondônia.
According to the National Center for the Prevention and Fighting of Forest Fires (Prevfogo), the flames have already affected a large part of the Park.
Also according to Prevfogo, there are four fire fronts in the Park. However, firefighters are working on only two of them, since they cannot reach the fire due to a lack of aircraft.
The firefighters are only working by land.
Teams from the State Secretariat for Environmental Development (Sedam), the Environmental Police Battalion and the Military Police have also moved personnel and land resources to fight the flames.
Sedam reported that a firefighting base has already moved to the Park to begin fighting the flames.
According to the department, the fire is "apparently criminal", started on the side of the road and spread into the forest.
