Approximately two tons of drugs and almost two thousand rounds of ammunition were seized in a stretch of the Solimões River, near the city of Coari, in the interior of Amazonas.
The seizure occurred in the early hours of Friday (15), during an integrated operation between the Military Police of Amazonas (PMAM) and the Federal Police (PF).
Tablets of cocaine, skunk-type marijuana, five restricted-use weapons and 1,780 rounds of rifle ammunition were found.
No one was arrested.
According to information from the police, the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Amazonas (Ficco) monitored a large quantity of drugs that would be transported by river.
After passing on the information, officers from the Special Operations Command (Coe) went to the location to intercept them.
Upon seeing a semi-armored speedboat, the patrol approached it.
It was at this point that the criminals opened fire on the police, who also responded with gunfire.
The suspects abandoned the boat and managed to escape through the forest.
The patrol managed to enter the speedboat to conduct an inspection and the illicit material was found.
The drugs and weapons were taken to the headquarters of the Federal Police Superintendence in Manaus.
