PARÁ, BRAZIL - Beachgoers were left stunned over the weekend at Pedral Beach, in São Félix do Xingu, southern Pará, Brazil, as a motocross rider appeared to defy physics by "surfing" across the Xingu River on a modified motorcycle.
Wenderson Fernandes, popularly known as "Nenén da Taboca", was captured speeding across the river's surface, cheered on by a shocked and exhilarated crowd lining the shore.
The jaw-dropping feat was recorded last Sunday (13), drawing praise for the pilot’s boldness and ingenuity.
The stunt came after several failed attempts, some resulting in sunken bikes that had to be retrieved from the riverbed.
Fernandes modified his motorcycle with side-mounted boards to ensure flotation.
Rubber-coated rear tires provided the necessary grip to glide over the water without sinking.
Despite the spectacle, the stunt carried significant risks.
According to Fernandes, a fire department rescue team was on standby during the performance.
