Smoke could be seen in at least nine neighbourhoods in the capital of Roraima. The grey "cloud" that intensified in the city for the second night in a row was the result of the fire caused by the outbreaks of heat in the state's municipalities, which have been burning for about a month, and in the urban and rural areas of Boa Vista. Of the 15 Brazilian municipalities with the highest number of hotspots, 14 are in Roraima. The air quality in Boa Vista was classified as "terrible" on Tuesday night (20). The quality index comes from the Selva Platform, run by the Amazonas State University (UEA), which monitors fires and the air quality index in the Amazon region in real time.
