According to data from the Department of Agriculture, the state has seen a 191.2% increase in soya production over the last four years - from 2018 to 2022. The rise in production also accompanied the increase in planting areas, by 165.7 per cent over the period. Producers in the state of Roraima usually start planting soya in April, in an inverted calendar compared to other soya producing states, because it is in the northern hemisphere. The seeds are planted until June, with the harvest taking place between August and September.
