Created in January 2009, the Museum of the Amazon (MUSA) occupies 100 hectares of the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve of the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA) in Manaus. It is an area of native terra firme forest that has been studied for over 60 years. Visitors can find exhibitions, an orchid and bromeliad nursery, a lake, aquariums and experimental laboratories for snakes, insects, butterflies and a 42-metre tower with a view of the forest's treetops. Trails that provide visitors with pleasant walks and surprising discoveries. Musa carries out research into the dissemination and popularisation of science and scientific and cultural education.
