Between 10 and 16 March, Federal Police agents carried out an operation to prevent and suppress illegal logging on the Mamuru River, near the town of Parintins, in the interior of Amazonas. The operation was supported by the Brazilian Navy, environmental inspection bodies, the Amazon Protection System Management and Operational Centre (Censipam) and the National Foundation for Indigenous Peoples (Funai). The information gathered during the action will be used to continue the investigation, as well as other inspections to be carried out in Amazonas, the PF said in a statement.
