From January 1st to Thursday (13th), the capital recorded 2,258 positive cases of infections caused by the disease.
The result points to a 131% increase in cases compared to the same period in 2023, which had recorded 974 positives.
The information is contained in the Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (Sivep) - Notification of Malaria cases.
Also according to Semsa, the locations most affected by the disease are in the Rural Zone of Manaus.
The Municipal Health Department informs that actions to combat the disease involve continuous work focused on patient care and combating the vector.
Semsa also promotes actions aimed at early diagnosis and treatment at reference points.
